Nigeria Flamingos Torch Central Africans to Reach Next Stage of FIFA Under 17 World Cup Qualifying


Free scoring Flamingos of Nigeria demolished their Central African opponents 6-0 today in Abuja to qualify for the third round of African qualifying for the FIFA Under 17 World Cup.

Hotshot Chidi Harmony scored a hat trick in the encounter which condemned the Central African Republic to a 0-12 aggregate loss over two legs.

Harmony opened scoring in the 2nd minute to set the tone for the day and made it two in 14th minute before Ojiyovwi Kesiena Tessy scored Nigeria’s third in the 36th minute to wrap up first half proceedings.

On resumption, Kareem Ramota’s brace on 55 and 85 minutes shot Nigeria 5nil up before Harmony grabbed her 3rd strike of the evening and Nigeria’s 6th in the 90th minute.

The enterprising Harmony had powered in two goals in the 1st leg played in Douala, Cameroon where the Flamingos also picked up a 6-0 win over their opponents from Central African Republic.



The 12-0 aggregate victory takes Nigeria into the third round of the continental qualifying for this year’s women’s Under 17 world cup in Dominican Republic.
